Slavery in Mexico

Resistance to  slavery

The black slaves had different forms of resistance. For example: they would commit suicide and determined many slaves to accept their position to bear children in slavery. In 1570, the slaves escape from their owners because they wanted to have their own freedom and there were a lot of them. They have found themselves a place to build their own lands but they also had a bad feeling because they have escape from their owners and that will cause a war between them. So the slaves were supplying themselves with weapons that they have steal from their owners (Spanish colonists). In the end, the black slaves won against the Spanish colonists and made a town called San Lorenzo de Los Negros (Encyclopaedia Britannica). It was a surprised that a small group of black slaves won against a big group of Spanish colonists.
